Scholarships to Attend the 2018
Public Radio Engineering Conference

December 2017

The Association of Public Radio Engineers Board of Directors is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships to attend the 2018 Public Radio Engineering Conference (PREC), held at the Tuscany Suites, Las Vegas on April 5th and 6th, immediately preceding the annual NAB Show. Applicants may apply here.

The PREC is an excellent opportunity for professional development through targeted technical seminars, contact with broadcast equipment manufacturers, and networking with public radio colleagues.

Dan Houg, past president of the APRE board of directors, says “years ago I was a brand new radio station engineer and a recipient of the APRE scholarship. I can attest to the impact attending the Public Radio Engineering Conference has on my ability to build and move our station forward. It opens contacts within the industry and provides connections with peers that persist as I go about my daily work.”

The scholarship will include APRE Membership for one year, the PREC registration fee, an invitation to the APRE Annual Engineering Awards Dinner, and 3 nights’ lodging at the conference hotel.

The scholarship is open to public radio station engineering and operations personnel who meet any of the following criteria:

a) Public radio station personnel new to the field;

b) Public radio station personnel who have not attended PREC in the last 5 years; or

c) Other industry representatives as identified by the Board of Directors.

Full details of the application process can be found on the APRE website: www.apre.us
